Welcome to Avid Rambler

Welcome to my website. My name is Bob. I have been a lover of the great outdoors since I was a child. In the days where you would pester your mum during the holidays to play out with your friends, and then not come home till the sun was going down, and get shouted at by your worried parents. I would spend the day building dens, causing general havoc. I guess those traits have kept with me to this day, I love spending my time walking in nature, the tranquillity is somewhat refreshing for me. So I wanted to create a website that catalogues most walking routes in Lancashire, from gentle to difficult. I aim to offer every piece of information for the walk, distance, terrain, time is taken and difficulty of walk. While allowing you to download a PDF version of the walk, and even GPX for your mobile app or GPS devices. Eventually offering further information like, what B&B’s, Hostels, Pubs are in the area just in case you need to stop and rest with a pint or a sandwich.
